Shocking! Former 'Love Island' host Caroline Flack passes away at 40!

In a shocking turn of events, former 'Love Island' host and cherished presented Caroline Flack was found dead at her east London home on Saturday morning. She was only 40 years old. While this news is shocking enough what was even more upsetting was that she took her own life as confirmed by her family members.

Needless to say, her sudden death has left her family, friends and fans extremely shocked and upset and many of them have taken to social media to express their feelings and share tributes for the star. A spokeswoman said, "Everybody at Love Island and ITV is shocked and saddened by this desperately sad news. Caroline was a much-loved member of the 'Love Island' team and our sincere thoughts and condolences are with her family and friends."

Her colleagues at 'The X Factor' also posted a touching tribute on their Twitter handle and wrote, "We are absolutely devastated by this tragic news. Caroline was a much-loved member of 'The X Factor' family and a huge part of its success over the years. We send our deepest condolences to her family and friends."

Caroline had also been entangled in controversy due to an alleged assault report on her boyfriend Lewis Burton for which she was also set to stand trial on March 4. This incident had a severe effect on her personal and professional life wherein she even had to step down from her position as the host for 'Love Island'. The star had then retreated to Los Angeles to try to get things back on track but had opened up about facing depression even after having a successful career and a seemingly happy life.

Although Caroline began her career by acting in shows and a few films, it was presenting that catapulted her into fame. She worked in shows like 'Fame Academy', 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' and its spin-off, 'Britain's Got More Talent' and 'The X Factor'. After the star's death, a family spokesperson said, "We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today on the 15th February. We would ask that the press respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time."
