According to reports, Shruti, who was playing the female lead and had unveiled her first look at Cannes, has bowed out of the project owing to disagreements with the makers.

However, the buzz is that Shruti is furious with the fact that the makers decided to announce that it was their decision to end the association with the actress. Talking to a leading tabloid, Shruti's spokesperson told despite the extensive prep that she was undergoing for the part, Shruti to walk out of the project owing to the lack of a bound script.

The spokesperson revealed, "Knowing that it was a massive undertaking and a long commitment spanning over two years, Shruti had hired one of the best combat trainers and begun training, making sure to be ready in time to shoot. Despite her commitment to Sangamithra, she has had to give the film a miss since she had not received a bound script nor a proper schedule."

On the work front, Shruti Haasan is currently busy with the promotions of her upcoming Bollywood film, 'Behen Hogi Teri ' alongside Rajkummar Rao. The actress will also soon begin prep for her upcoming Tamil-Telugu spy adventure, 'Sabaash Naidu', directed and produced by her father Kamal Haasan.
