Sidharth Malhotra: I think every film deserves a different expectation

Sidharth Malhotra is all set for his next film ‘Aiyaary’, the actor feels that failure handles us more than we handle it. He also stated that we should accept every situation. We learn from the failures. Sidharth also shares his experience working with the team of ‘Ittefaq’. He also shared that failure makes a person work harder.


Sidharth Malhotra talks about failure, “I feel failure handles you more than you handle failure because there is no choice. When things don’t work the way you want them to, you need to accept it (the situation). Failure is a learning experience. When films work, you tend to take it much easier, than when they don’t. So, failure actually pushes you to make choices that you wouldn’t have made otherwise. It also makes you work harder on your craft, scenes, and scripts.”


Talking about working in ‘Ittefaq’ the actor said, “It was a great encouragement in terms of performance and I think I have realised that is how the life of an actor is — you can’t have an amazing run always. Life will be a bunch of ups and downs; it's better not to be upset with the failure or too happy for success, as both are short-lived. Now, I have experienced both, and feel pretty equipped to handle everything.”


Sidharth further talks about his films, “Eventually business is important and I won’t deny getting affected if a film does not make money. But as I said, now I accept what happens. At times the unexpected also happens — for ‘Ittefaq’, we were looking to do good work... Logon ko kaam pasand aaye. (We wanted people to like what we had made). We weren’t really looking at the box office results. Had it been a flashy film, we would have expected a lot at the box office, but still, 'Ittefaq' did well. So, I think every film deserves a different expectation.”


Sidharth Malhotra's 'Aiyaary' is slated to release on 9th February 2018. It also stars Manoj Bajpayee in lead role.
