The idea of an Italian wedding was prompted by Aditya Chopra to Virat and Anushka

The Internet has been bombarded with gorgeous pictures of power couple, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli's wedding ceremony and it looked nothing short of a fairytale. And reports suggest that producer-filmmaker Aditya Chopra, who has played mentor to Anushka for years now apparently prompted the Italian venue. Aditya too had opted for an Italian wedding with Rani Mukerji in 2014 and he recommended it to Anushka who paid much heed to it.
A source close to Aditya said, “It was his idea that Anushka and Virat have their wedding in Italy. He warned them that a desi wedding would turn into a tamasha with paparazzi and gatecrashers.” The source described it as, “From Adi’s lips to Virat’s ears." Anushka consults the filmmaker on all-important matters and this time too took his advice seriously.
And while not everyone was invited to the wedding, Adi and Rani were. “Adi, who is busy supervising 'Thugs of Hindostan', would like to take two days off for the wedding. We heard Rani saying she would love to attend Anushka’s wedding, but they can’t take their daughter Adira along," a source from Aditya's production house revealed.
