Today being the birth anniversary of the late iconic filmmaker, Yash Chopra, the makers of ‘Thugs of Hindostan' thought it would be a good idea to release the trailer of the film today. Movie buffs have been waiting for a sneak-peek of this film which stars Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh.

To create a buzz around the Vijay Krishna Acharya directorial, the movie has been introduced to audiences in bits and pieces in the form of motion posters of each of the stars. In the film, Amitabh Bachchan plays Khudabaksh, Aamir plays Firangi, Fatima is Zafira and Katrina is Surraiya. While most think that the film is based on a book, the director, Vijay Krishna Acharya clarified this by saying, “'Thugs of Hindostan' is not based on any book. The good and the bad in this film has come from my head. We have had very relevant period films. I wanted to make something irrelevant. It is hard to get the audience to the theatre to watch films, so I wanted to give them something spectacular."

The trailer launch saw the four stars take to the stage and discuss the movie, the legacy of Yash Chopra, working with each other and most importantly working with Big B!

"I remember how Yash Chopra had a small cabin at his office and had an accountant. And today, YRF has become so big. I thank Aditya Chopra for making his father's dreams come true," Amitabh Bachchan told reporters at the trailer launch.

Fatima spoke about the fact that she had to do a lot of physical training for this film too, much as she did for 'Dangal'. She said, “After 'Dangal', I was made to do a lot of physical training again. I have never done archery before. I had to be very agile and I was trained for it. It was great fun to work with this wonderful cast.” Talking about her character, Katrina said, "It was absolutely fantastic to play Suraiyya. It is my second time working with Vijay sir. He creates a spectacle, and he has that vision. It is a huge honour for me. This film is a special film to remember, and the audience will watch this spectacular piece of art."

Talking about working with Big B, Aamir said, "It was a dream for me to work with Amitabh Bachchan. I have been working for 30 years, but I never got to work with sir. This experience is very rich for me. I was like a child in a candy shop. I would feel good even by just sitting next to him. I was so happy to learn so much from someone who has been my inspiration. It was lovely working with Katrina and Fatima. Both of them are great actors."

For the launch, Aamir chose to keep it looking rather casual. The actor was seen wearing blue pants teamed with a blue shirt. Glasses rounded the look off.

Katrina chose an elaborate contemporary-Indian look for the trailer launch and stunned in white all-over. The ruffled detailing lent that nice daytime drama to the look.

Amitabh Bachchan arrived looking dapper as usual. The actor was seen wearing a sharp navy blue bandhgala jacket which he paired with black bottoms. Brogues rounded his look off.

Fatima looked radiant in a chic yellow dress featuring a sheer hem at the bottom and a silver waist belt to cinch her tiny waist with.
