Varun Dhawan gets injured on the sets of 'Sui Dhaaga'

Varun Dhawan is known to get into the skin of his character when it comes to his films. Last October it was announced that Varun and Anushka Sharma were to come together for the film 'Sui Dhaaga'. The duo had decided to stay true to their characters of a tailor and an embroidery artist, and had even learned sewing ahead of the film's shoot. Now, there's news that in his bid to stay completely true to his character, Varun seems to have gotten himself injured on the sets of the film. The actor wanted to pull off a fight sequence without the help of a body double and in the process ended up getting injured on the set in Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh on Friday.
A unit had revealed that in the scene Varun's character gets involved in a street brawl. In the sequence, Varun had to roll down a flight of stairs. While director Sharat Katariya wanted a body double to pull off the stunt, Varun insisted on doing the stunt himself. "The director clearly told Varun of the risk involved in the scene and tried to dissuade him from attempting the stunt. But Varun was adamant. Unfortunately, while filming, one of the steps in the staircase gave way and in the process, he sustained injuries on his head, including a gash on the forehead," the source added. "The doctor assured Sharat, Anushka and the crew that Varun's injuries were minor, but recommended bed rest to the actor for the day. However, Varun resumed shooting after resting for a few hours as he didn't want to delay the schedule in any way," the source continued. Stay tuned for more updates.
