With an hourglass bod, gorgeous skin and luscious locks, Malaika Arora might as well be the Kim Kardashian of India, and we mean that as a compliment! Truly! For an event for an international makeup brand, the actress chose a strapless golden and black gown – and looked so ravishing that we’re gasping for air!
But despite being high on the hot-o-meter, the look isn’t exactly high being one-of a kind – mainly because it reminded us of an iconic red carpet look by Deepika Padukone.
Malaika’s strapless number came from the house of Amit Aggarwal, and like most of ensembles, this one too came with an almost sculptural material that enhanced Malaika’s gorgeous bod. The sequined bandeau was almost shaped like a bodice and the golden skirt has micro pleats. Malaika styled the look with a thick, leather umpire waisted belt, a neat sleek pony tail, a well highlighted visage and bright red lips. Love!
But gold and black can be such a winning combination – especially on Indian skin tones. So much that, Deepika herself worse similar looks twice.
Deepika’s first gold and black ensemble was from the year 2012, where the actress wore a sweetheart neck bandeau with a well-fitted golden sequined neck. Her second look, came in the year 2017 – that looks look almost the same in one glance, but actually aren’t.

To conclude, the our only favourite from these looks would be the fool-proof gold and black combination. Can’t wait to recreate a look with the hues.
