You may have had a good night sleep or even inadequate amount of sleep, the effects of the two reflect on your face and body. UK-based consultant dermatologist Dr Justine Hextal, in a conversation once said, “There is no substitute for a healthy diet, plenty of water and a good night’s sleep for your skin." It is when we sleep that your skin gets time to fight off environmental pollutants, repair the damage done to the skin and renew skin cells.

And so, we give you good reasons as to why you should give yourself and your body adequate sleep:

No dark circles

The make-up that you use to hide those bags under your eyes can be replaced with cheaper and much effective substitute. Getting adequate sleep will help you get rid of those dark circles and will renew your skin cells.

Anti-ageing and Moisturising

Did you know adequate sleep can help in anti-ageing?! Well, while you sleep your face muscles relax and that is when the serums and creams you applied on your face work more effectively.

Help get you rid of that unwanted fat

Here 'the more you sleep, the less you eat' is not the real case. According to NHS, When your body is sleep deprived your levels of leptin which is a chemical that makes you feel full is reduced, it, in turn, increases your level of ghrelin which is a hunger-stimulating hormone.

Glowing and radiant skin

Lack of sleep can make your skin dry and dehydrated resulting in a dull look. Skin looks clear and brighter after a good night sleep.
