Vaani Kapoor launches Label Ritu Kumar's 'Maharaja Pop' Autumn-Winter'17 collection

Ace fashion designer and couturier Ritu Kumar under her brand, Label Ritu Kumar unveiled her latest Autumn/Winter 2017 collection titled 'Maharaja Pop' featuring actress Vaani Kapoor.

The theme for the season, 'Maharaja Pop', is inspired by the rich fabrics and ornamentations of erstwhile royalty, merged with quirky colour accents and bold, military inspired prints.

This collection’s colour palette is filled with contrasts- greys, blues, and metallics, with bright pops of red interspersed. The collection presents a fun take on the structured silhouettes and a new interpretation of the neo-combat trend.

Outfits in the collection include printed jackets, signature shirt dresses and short skirts in fabrics like velvet, foil printed jerseys and heavy and vintage crepe. Adding a royal feel to the line are the stones and beads delicately placed on garments.

Speaking about the collection, Amrish Kumar, CEO, Ritu Kumar said, “We spend a lot of time thinking through and connecting with people who we believe portray the mood and personality of the brand. This year we were talking about the vivacious and bold approach the brand has taken and starting meeting with people who portray this feeling. Vaani represents the movement, the grounded-ness along with the international outlook that Label Ritu Kumar stands for.”
