The brilliant actor Irrfan Khan succumbed to colon infection as he was battling cancer for years. His cancer diagnosis had started back in 2018 and was responding well to the treatment as per the reports. However, the actor had to be admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai at midnight and passed away ‘surrounded by his family’. This great loss of a Bollywood gem has evoked the importance of gut health and that’s why you need to know what exactly is this colon infection and what are its signs that we all should be watching out for.

The colon is another name for the large intestine of our body that plays a crucial role in the digestive system and bowel movement. An infection in the colon or colitis can be fatal if not treated properly.
