It's a really nice feeling to create a small ecosystem of animals and plants in a tiny space. People give in a lot of their time to set this beautiful space for little fishes in a corner of their house in the name of aquarium and they love how they can create a tiny world like that in their house. Although, maintaining the aquarium is a really tough job that you need to do in order to keep the fishes healthy and their home safe. There are a lot of people who face problems with their aquariums and sometimes they can't find the right way to take care of that little place. Hence, we're here to give out a few tips to the beginners on how to take care of the aquarium.

- Cycle the tank before you put in the fishes: This basically means that you have to bring the condition of the water up to the level where it becomes super healthy for the fishes. This needs t be done before you add the fishes in the aquarium.

- Test the parameters of the water: Before you add in the fishes, you need to make sure that the water is very safe for the tender fishes. For this, you can purchase an inexpensive water testing kit that monitors the levels of nitrates, nitrites, ammonia and pH of the water. After testing the water parameters, if it looks good, you can put the fishes in the water.

- Change the water regularly: Make sure the water parameters are in tact, and if not you need to change the water immediately. If over-the-counter products are not useful due to their chemicals you need to change the water as clean water is always best for the fishes. Also, you need to make sure you are changing the water frequently. Remove one-third of the water from the tank every week and add some fresh water to it. The chemicals will then dilute in the water itself.

- Do your research before you buy your fishes: This is a really tough part as it is to own an aquarium. Hence, you'll have to be really careful before buying the fishes. You need to do some good research on your part before you purchase them. It's a good thing to have some knowledge on the fishes' growth, required space, temperament and which fish gets along with the surroundings of your aquarium.

- You need to avoid overfeeding: The fishes need to be fed once a day. Hence, you will have to maintain the guideline. Provide food items for each type of fish in your aquarium.

- Make sure there's enough light around the aquarium: You will have to keep the algae in the fish tank which is very similar to plants. Like other plant, these too need some light, not the fishes. So, make sure you place the aquarium where you don't get direct sunlight. You need to put the lights on for maximum 12 hours of the day. Just moderate daylight is preferred for the fishes. Always remember that the lights are not for the fishes but for you to see them properly.
