Indian pantry is full of ingredients that are multi-purpose in nature. One of them is the humble desi ghee or clarified butter. Whether layered on top of garma garm roti or oozing out from a comforting bowl of gajar ka halwa, the smell of ghee is itself enough to make every dish an absolute delish. Apart from its health benefits, ghee is also popular as a natural remedy to numerous skin and hair problem. If you want soft, supple and smooth skin then you have to give desi ghee a try. It is great as an overnight facepack.

Ghee is a natural moisturiser which can heal dry skin effectively. It can improve your skin texture and give a natural glow to your skin. It is anti-aging in nature. Clarified butter can help to rid of dark circles and chappy lips. It is also said to be great for hair and nails.

The only catch about applying ghee on your skin is that it has to be 100 percent natural ghee out of the grass-fed cow. This means no jersey or HF, only desi cow.

Applying ghee as an overnight treatment dates back to ancient times to retain a youthful healthy and radiant look. Start by cleansing your face and take a small amount of ghee in your palm. Add a few drops of water to the ghee and mix the paste by warming it between your palms. Apply it all over your face and massage your skin gently to increase the blood circulation of your face. Leave it for overnight. Wash your face with lukewarm water when you wake up in the morning.

At first, you might experience a little greasiness on application of ghee on your face but it gets absorbed throughout the night. It might take some time for your skin to adapt, however, this trick comes with zero side effects as being natural. If you experience any irritation, you should consult the doctor.
