Taking care of your liver health is important as it plays an important role in the body. However, you could do a lot of damage to your liver without even realising it on a daily basis.Certain lifestyle factors like drinking too much alcohol or not exercising enough can increase your risk of liver diseases. Here are the early warning signs of liver diseases you need to be aware of.

* You start to notice your skin complexion turn yellow or your eyes become a little yellow. If you notice this sign, it could be because of the high levels of bilirubin in the bloodstream. This occurs when the liver is trying to get rid of bilirubin.

* You start to notice swelling on the abdominal and experience pain that area.

* You are extremely exhausted and feel tired all the time. Exhaustion is a sign of liver disease in some cases. This may cause you to struggle while performing your regular activities.

* Poor liver health may cause the colour of your urine to change. Consult with a doctor if you notice it becoming very dark.

* Liver disease patients tend to feel nausea a lot and may vomit often.

* You may not feel like eating and it may make you feel more weak and cause nutritional deficiency.

Meanwhile, a new study discovered dark chocolate could help treat the condition."As well as advanced technologies and high science, it is important to explore the potential of alternative sources which can contribute to the overall wellbeing of a patient," Professor Mark Thursz, MD FRCP, Vice Secretary of EASL and Professor of Hepatology, at Imperial College London, told a news portal.

Adding, "This study shows a clear association between eating dark chocolate and portal hypertension and demonstrates the potential importance of improvements in the management of cirrhotic patients, to minimise the onset and impact of end stage liver disease and its associated mortality risks."
