This has left many people wondering what exactly is this neuroendocrine tumour. To clear the confusion about this rare type of cancer, here’s what you need to know.

Neuroendocrine cells are associated with the nervous system and hormone-producing glands of the body. Turning of these cells into tumour is known as a neuroendocrine tumour in basic terms. As these neuroendocrine cells are present all over the body, these tumours can be found in different organs such as in the lungs, pancreas, and adrenal glands. One of the commonest spots to develop these tumours is the gastrointestinal tract.

As the symptoms of this cancer take time to show up, here are some of the early signs that people suffering from neuroendocrine tumour might develop:

Abnormal weight loss Pain Regular fatigue Diarrhea and other gastrointestinal issues Frequent thirst and urination Dizziness and chills High blood pressure Fatigue Flushing Swelled up feet and ankles
Neuroendocrine tumour comes with different types that depend on its origin, size, and growth. It can either be malignant or even cancerous. It is staged as a tumour, node, and metastasis, and its treatment highly depends on this. From chemotherapy to hormone therapy, there are so many treatments available that can respond well to this condition. However, there’s no clear information on its causes.
