Expert advice: Can TikTok moves substitute for a workout session?

Tiktok videos are popular around the globe. From cringe-worthy acting skill to comedy sketches, over the course of time TikTok videos have received both love and hate. Whether you’re against these videos or not, its popularity is seemingly increasing even more as people are trapped inside their homes due to the pandemic. In order to be both active and entertaining, millions of people from different countries are joining the app to take up different TikTok dance challenges that’s been currently circulated. However, you must not underestimate these challenges, it can difficult to master the power moves within a few seconds. It can make you sweat and physically drained- almost like a workout. The good side of these TikTok moves is that all of these jumping, wiggling and throwing your hands in the air can actually improve your body and mind.

According to fitness experts, these power moves require “loads of energy.” While people are confined to their homes with limited to only a little amount of physical activity, these TikTok challenges can actually motivate people to burn calories in a fun way. It is no news that aerobic workouts like dancing or Zumba can help to ward off stress, anxiety, depression while refreshing it. These movements can feed positive thoughts in your mind, and most importantly a fun activity that can keep people from different age-groups occupied.

Although some TikTok challenges have created problems and safety issues, such as the ‘kiki’ challenge or the ‘skull breaker’ challenge, people are finding these dancing challenges more acceptable and practical. The good thing about these challenges is that no one has to be an absolute master of the moves, you can be terrible at dancing and still give it a shot. Even quarantined artists and dancers are actively taking part in the various dancing challenge. However, one must make sure of the surroundings and its consequences before filming any TikTok challenge. Kids and teenagers must be supervised during taking up any such challenges. The safety of performing these challenges indoors is still a question.
