People who absolutely love and enjoy cooking know how therapeutic it feels to cook delicious dishes. Some of these are absolute foodies and know the fanciest dishes to cook which others might be an occasional chef but still can bring together a mouthwatering dish. But did you ever think that there could be a list of foods that you might be cooking all wrong? That's true. There are foods you've been cooking since all these years but not in the right way. Here's what you need to know and correct yourself:

- Boiled eggs: A lot of us actually consider boiled eggs as our staple and still there are chances we're boiling them all wrong. Of course, there's no mistake where you boil some water in a container and throw in some eggs and then wait for them to boil. Although, if you aim at making perfectly boiled eggs, you should first know what kind of egg you're seeking to make. is it soft-boiled, jammy or hard? Once you're clear with the type of egg you choose, you then have to let it take the cooking time that it needs. Typically, soft-boil will take about six minutes, jammy will take up to eight while a hard one will need twelve minutes to boil all too well. You should make sure that you use a big enough container for the eggs and that the water is actually at a rolling boil before you decide to throw in the eggs. Timing is very important when it comes to boiling eggs because just a minute or two will decide if you're going to get a perfect egg or a disappointing one.

- Garlic: If you think adding minced garlic to hot oil is how it is cooked for the right flavour that you need, then you're wrong. Doing this actually doesn't let the food get the needed garlic flavour. You should be adding garlic to a warm pan without preheating the oil and allow both of it to rise up to a temperature simultaneously. This way, you'll get softened garlic which you can then infuse with the oil to get the delightful garlicky aroma.

- Frozen foods: For cooking any type of frozen food, you must know how to defrosting it. Just thawing ingredients or dishes isn't all that there is. There are many methods, each of which may be more or less suitable for the situation. Defrosting the food in the wrong way will only lead to seriously bad times, and so you should make sure you know all the details and how to defrost the food in the right manner.
