From Anushka Sharma to Deepika Padukone, these B-Town celebrities are setting up home gardens to beat stress

Gardening, one of the simplest hobbies, serves multiple benefits. Not only is it one of the best ways to gel with nature but it also serves as a stress-buster. It also has cognitive health benefits. While Anushka Sharma admits enjoying setting up home gardens with her dad in her free time, Deepika Padukone is happily watering her new rose plant. Twinkle Khanna, on the other hand, has a full-fledged garden that she tends to and constantly posts pictures of.

To ensure this stress-free zone, here's what you've got to do...

1. Take out time every day

In our busy schedules, it might get difficult to take out time for gardening or to maintain a garden but we suggest that you should. Even 30 minutes will give you some peace and once you reap what you sow, you will keep at it.

2. Start off with the sturdiest and cheapest plants

To start a garden, get the strongest plants (like a money plant) that don't require much maintenance. If you don't have space at home, you can experiment with DIY vertical gardens made of shoe racks or upcycled plastic bottles.

3. If not plants or flowers, start with vegetables

If you want to try growing your own food, start off with easy vegetables like cucumber, bitter gourd, corn or tomatoes. You can also try growing your own herbs like coriander or mint.

4. Opt for indoor gardening

Those who suffer from a space crunch, choose plants that can easily grow on your terrace. Then there are oxygen-bomb plants like the spider plant and mother-in-law's tongue that double up as air-purifiers because they increase the oxygen level and absorb harmful gases like carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide.
