A new study says that drinking green tea can help with food allergies. Researchers from Shinshu University in Japan came up with a discovery that certain gut microbes can affect how the immune system reacts to some allergens. The found out that the number of flavonoids can improve the bacteria in the gut.

Flavonifractor plautii (FP) is found in the gut and is known to have some positive effects on the immune system and also inhibits inflammation.

When FB is triggered by the catechin antioxidant in green tea, it strongly suppresses a group of cells which are responsible for the body's reaction to food allergies.

Dr. Tasuku Ogita was the one to successfully cultivate the FP bacteria outside of the body which took her six months to accomplish.

Since people in Japan are known to have a fermented foods rich diet, it contains high levels of goof bacteria and consumes a larger amount of green tea that has flavonoids and antioxidants in higher levels.
