Hair oiling mistakes you might not even know you're making

One of the best ways to ensure that you end up with strong and beautiful hair is to oil it regularly. Oiling your hair can help moisturise and hydrate it and can boost hair growth while also nourishing your hair follicles. However, if you've noticed that oiling hasn't been working well for you, it's probably because you're making some basic mistakes. Wondering what you could be doing wrong? Take a look.

-Not massaging your head. Simply applying the oil to your hair won't make it as effective as massaging your head along with it. When you massage your head, it helps the oil seep into your scalp and nourish your roots from within.

-Washing the oil off too quickly. You need to leave the oil in your hair for at least an hour or two for it to have any effect on your hair. If you simply apply it and wash it off in a few minutes, it won't make any difference to your hair's texture.

-Using too much oil. You need to figure out how much oil is the right amount for your hair. Applying too much of it can lead to extra greasiness and dandruff issues. Plus, you'll need a ton of shampoo to wash it off which again isn't great for your hair.

-Not heating the oil. Warm oil tends to seep into the scalp a lot faster than cold oil. So, heat up your oil a little bit (don't burn your scalp though) and then apply it to your hair. You'll notice how much of a difference it can make.

So, the next time you're opting for that champi or maalish, make sure to keep these things in mind. Stay tuned for more updates.
