What we’re about to say may sound bizarre, because at first thought, it pretty much is. Health experts actually believe that your good old cheesy, delicious pizza may actually make a healthier choice than a bowl of cereal for breakfast in the morning. If you are healthy eater, this must sound a bunch of hogwash. But let’s sit down, breakdown the nutrient value of each and then come with a conclusion

Let’s take it step by step. Cereals often have healthy perception in the eyes of the consumer. But they’re all beyond sweet and often made out of cornstarch. This means it is rich only in two things, carbohydrates and sugar – which all breaks down into glucose. Cereals have no fiber, or protein, which are essential components of a healthy breakfast. Having cereals for breakfast might fill you up instantly, but will also lead you to a sugar crash just as fast. You will be left feeling hungry even before lunch time. Truth is, cereal is only easier to have in the morning. All the nutrients you may be getting, are from the tiny amount of milk you have it with, not the cereals.

Now let’s look at pizza. Aside from the high carb content from the pizza base, they’re usually have a lot of cheese , which contain calcium, fat and protein. It also contains high amounts of of vitamins A and B-12, along with zinc, phosphorus, and riboflavin. And if you have a leftover pizza with non-veg toppings, do I even have to say it? It is obviously a better choice and also filling.

That being said, pizza will never be the healthiest breakfast you consume. So if you’re making plans for having pizza for breakfast, let us stop you right there. But on the contrary, if you’ve gotten up with a massive hangover and you’re looking for a filling breakfast that will nurse you through normalcy; a leftover pizza will make a much better suitor than a bowl of cereal.

How about that?
