Here's all you need to know about the anti-inflammatory diet!

Diets here, diets there, we're finding diets everywhere! Well, in case you haven't noticed, the world has been taken over by a number of fad diets all of which promise you results and fast. While some of them don't really work all that well, others can do wonders for you. One such diet is the anti-inflammatory diet. This diet requires you to consume certain foods while avoiding others.

There are certain free radicals that are produced in the body which can damage the cells in the body and can also increase the risk of developing certain diseases. The anti-inflammatory diet is rich in antioxidants which can fight these free-radicals and can thus help keep the body healthy and fit.

There are multiple problems that one can face due to inflammation in the body. The anti-inflammatory diet can help combat various conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, asthma, Crohn’s disease, colitis, inflammatory bowel disease, diabetes, obesity, heart disease, lupus, metabolic syndrome and Hashimoto’s disease.

Here are some foods you can consume in the anti-inflammatory diet: Leafy greens like spinach, kale; berries like blueberries, blackberries, cherries; dark red grapes, broccoli, cauliflowers, beans, lentils, green tea, red wine (in moderation), avocado, olives, coconut, extra virgin olive oil, walnuts, almonds, pine nuts, pistachios, turmeric, cinnamon, dark chocolate and cold-water fish including salmon and sardines.

Foods to avoid: Fried foods, white bread, processed meat, sugary drinks, vegetable oil, soybean oil, gluten, unhealthy fats and carbohydrates etc.
