Much like skin type, the hair also comes with different types-straight, wavy, curly, coily, and even a mix. The type of hair you have right now is bound to change over time. You can have voluminous curly hair back in high school, however, as you grow up you might experience loosening of curls into waves. This is quite common. While what kind of hair products you should use highly depends on your hair type, a change in hair texture means you must alter your hair care routine to fit its current needs. Although a change in hair texture can be a sign of weak hair, there are plenty of ways to deal with them.

It’s more important to understand what exactly can cause changes in your overall hair texture to get rid of them. Hormonal changes during puberty, menstruation, pregnancy, menopause, and birth control can transform your hair growth. It can increase or decrease your hair loss process. Similarly, genes and hereditary can also define your hair texture which can’t be altered. Look for a haircut that suits your hair type and face to sync with the change.

Food and lifestyle habits also contribute to your hair growth. Eating right and quitting harmful lifestyle habits can help you to retain lustrous mane over time.

Another factor is ageing which affects skin and hair visibly. As the process of collagen production slows down after a certain age, hair tends to loose pigments, moisture and volume. All these can alter the type of hair you’re born with.

Taking care of your hair religiously along with going easy with the styling tools can also help to lessen the hair damage which can also affect your hair in the long run.
