To begin with, anemia is a condition where the red blood cells decrease in the body because of which you tend to have low oxygen in you than needed. The main symptom of anemia is fatigue and that's because your body organs don't get enough oxygen to function all too well.

This condition ca be temporary and also long term in a range from mild to severe. There are up to 400 types of anemia which are already detected. Many forms of anemia also depends on heredity and infants too have chances of being affected by this at the time of their birth. As well as older adults are concerned, chances of the same are more due to poor diet and medical conditions.

Several individuals often overlook when they're constantly end up feeling tired, sleepy and in no mood to work. But getting yourself checked regularly looks like the only safe option in order to know if you're anemic and need any help or no.

Since a lot of people don't realize how serious this can get, here is a list of anemia symptoms that you can look out for and get yourself better once you find out if you're anemic or not.

Pale skin
Fatigue
Headache
Soreness of tongue
Chest pain
Dizziness
Poor appetite
Brittle nails
Cold hands and feet
Irregular heartbeats
Shortness of breath
Leg cramps

Again, anemia is usually mild in the beginning and so looking out for these symptoms might get difficult, but with times, they can only get worse if not treated.

There can be many causes of anemia. The body has three types of blood cells - white blood cells, platelets and red blood cells. The red blood cells have haemoglobin which enables the red blood cells to carry oxygen from lungs to rest of the body parts. Decrease in the number of red blood cells causes anemia.
