These days a lot of fad diets have taken over the world. Whatever helps get rid of weight the fastest, turns into the next fad diet. Now, something known as dry fasting has been creating all the buzz around the globe, including in India. While most diets restrict the consumption of certain foods, dry fasting also restricts consuming water. One day of dry fasting is said to be equivalent to three days of water fasting, as far as an overall cleansing of the body is concerned.

There are two types of dry fasting - soft dry fast and hard dry fast. Soft dry fast includes brushing your teeth, taking a shower and minute things like that. Whereas a hard dry fast requires that you do not come in contact with water at all. But this can prove to be really extreme on your body. When your body doesn't come into contact with any water, it starts using all the available energy to make up for the loss and this can leave you feeling dull and lethargic. So, before jumping into this, it is better to consult a doctor and only then start on this fast. Stay tuned for more updates.
