Rabbits can be the fluffiest, cutest, softest and the most cuddle-worthy pet in the world. They are playful and peaceful at the same time. It has such unique traits that will make your life wonderful. However, this little furry friend can be a bigger responsibility than their size. For starters, they are very sensitive and easily-frightened animals. They can live for more than ten years easily. One must consider the following things before deciding if a rabbit is a perfect fit for their house.

Rabbits are a huge commitment and not just a toy or an ‘Easter gift’. In fact, they need more attention than any other feline or dog. According to a Peta report, rabbits are the third most abandoned animals in a shelter. It’s best to adopt a rabbit than to shop.

A rabbit can be very territorial and need ample space. Consider if you have a big enough indoor space since outdoor is not safe for any pet rabbit. They can hurt themselves or be killed by other predators.

People might think bunnies are mostly nocturnal whereas they’re active from dusk to dawn. That’s why they are considered as crepuscular. Although bunnies get bore easily. They need lots of toys and objects to play. They might not like a lot of human interaction.

Being a pray animal, rabbit tends to hide sickness and pain. One needs to pay close attention to their everyday movement to catch any abnormality. Similar to humans, a rabbit’s teeth and nail keep growing and requires a regular check. Petting a rabbit by no means is cheaper as they require a special vet.

Rabbits require to digest foods twice for nutrients. This means eating their droppings. Not everyone might know this. Bunnies can only eat certain foods at a certain amount and hence, it’s not easy to manage their diet

This cutesy friend has some of the strangest ways to show affection. They love to purr and binky when happy. They can be very curious and goofiest.

Above all, each rabbit can have different personality. Some can be a mix of both cat and dog traits while some can be neither. You should consider twice before bringing a bunny friend to your house, especially if you already have another animal at your place.
