We're all aware of just how important it is for us to be consuming a healthy diet. It must comprise of the right amount of vitamins, nutrients, proteins, fibres and minerals. And while under normal circumstances we might all have been paying attention to what we're eating and how much of it we're eating, ever since the lockdown was imposed, we're sure all these diet rules must have gone for a toss. So, if you're looking to make your diet healthier, here are some tips you should pay heed to.

Include proteins in your breakfast: Your breakfast is the most important meal of your day because you begin your day with it. That's why you must include something that can give you a boost of energy and that ingredient is proteins. Opt for eggs or some bacon or even some chicken if you can.

Opt for fibres over juices: A lot of people tend to think that fresh juices contain the same nutrients as fruits and veggies do. Unfortunately, this is not true. Not only do the juices contain a bare minimum amount of nutrients, but they're also devoid of fibres that are essential for your body. So, make sure you consume some fresh fruits and veggies instead of just gulping down juices.

Opt for foods that can improve gut health: If your gut isn't in the right condition then it's very likely that you'll end up with digestive issues that could also take a toll on your overall health. So, opt for foods that will help increase the immunity of your gut. Foods like yoghurt, almonds, olive oil, kimchi etc are all good for your gut.

Opt for healthy snacks: Stop munching on those fried chips and chocolate bars. Opt for healthier snacks instead like baked veggie chips or a handful of nuts and even some dark chocolate. You'll notice a world of a difference when you switch from unhealthy snacks to healthy ones. You'll feel lighter, more energetic and less lethargic.

Stay hydrated: This should go without saying that you need to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day. It's what will help you stay healthy and hydrated. Water can also help flush toxins from your body and so it can even work wonders in making your skin glow.
