In a Facebook post, an ex-army officer, Lt Col Dhillon said narrated his experience of standing outside the bank!
With the whole world being currently divided over the demonetisation policy that is enforced by the Modi government, both the sides of the fence have gotten supporters a plenty! This bold move by the government was lauded and condemned by many in equal measure. The people who came out against the policy were labeled as the 'anti-nationalist' and the ones who did, were called 'Bhakts', and both the labels detested each other.

While this policy will help the country in a long run, the secrecy of the mission and operation has led to severe mismanagement at the ground level. This mismanagement, in turn, has led to long serpentine queues outside the banks, which often take up to an hour at least. And when people cribbed about the amount of time wasted in the queues, the people who have shown blind faith in the move often would cite the example of the Indian soldiers at the border. The argument was that what is happening is for the greater good, and how can one complain about such minor inconvenience, when the Indian soldiers face such inconveniences day in and day out. The Indian soldiers safeguard us, stand at the borders, but do thy ever complain?

So this is what happened when an actual Indian soldier turned up at the bank for currency exchange!

Lieutenant Colonel Darshan Dhillon, who retired in 2006 from the Indian Army is currently based in Ludhiana, Punjab. When Lt. Col. Dhillon visited an ATM in the city to withdraw some cash, this is what we encountered.

In a Facebook post, Dhillon said narrated his experience of standing outside the bank. This Facebook post has since been shared by nearly 8500 people.

While this demonetisation move is an excellent one, no can deny the inconvenience that it has caused at the ground roots level. What about you'll? Let me know your views in the comments section!
