The coronavirus scare has made us realise how important it is to stay indoor for reducing the spread of the infection. While we all are homebound with limited resources, one of our problems is our disrupted visits to the beauty salons. Added to this, what if you run out of your daily skincare staples? This is most women’s nightmare. However, we need to adhere to the situation and understand the ongoing crisis accordingly. There is a chance that you can only manage essential items from both online and offline stores, for skincare you can use some natural ingredients to substitute for the time being.

If you are out of your regular makeup remover or cleansing balm, you may use natural oil as an oil-based cleanser. Baby oil, coconut oil, and olive oil are some of the best known to take your makeup, dirt, and grime off from the skin. If you’re not prone to acne, you may also try old-school petroleum jelly to do the job.

Running out of facewash or foam cleanser? Give any mild soap a try. Start by foaming them up on your hands and massage on your face. Baby soaps and glycerin soaps are gentle even on sensitive skin. Some people also use raw milk to cleanse their faces; you might want to skip this if you have sensitive skin.

For the scrub, mix sugar with honey to exfoliate your skin, but don’t forget to be gentle on the skin. Another great exfoliating agent is coffee powder. Mix equal parts of coffee powder and honey to scrub your body.

You can steep some rose petals in water to create rose water for toning the face or use neem leaves. You can also use extracted aloe juice with water to create hydrating toner at home.

Another great hack is to use ghee or malai for moisturising your face. People with oily skin can try putting aloe vera gel to add hydration to their skin.
