With the lifestyles we lead, stress and depression just come as added baggage for most of us. And studies have recently shown and proved that regular exercise can greatly help combat depression. However today, we have come across a new study that states that having a hot bath could be a better way of treating depression than exercising.

Experts claim that this could be because it restores the body’s natural temperature rhythm over the course of the day which can otherwise be disrupted in patients of depression. Also, regularly having a hot bath is faster-acting and more effective in treating depression. It's also a long-term, rather 'natural' solution to people battling depression.

Researchers from the University of Freiburg in Germany tested the effects of thermal baths on 45 people with depression and said that hyperthermic baths seem to be a fast-acting, safe and an easy-access method. After conducting the research, the scientists concluded that someone with severe depression could cut their symptoms to moderate depression by bathing, or somebody already on a moderate score could drop to mild.
