Summer's juiciest fruit watermelon helps decrease hypertension

The hot weather has just begun to kick in and we're ready to hog on all the summer foods that will help us keep our energy levels intact which the humidity takes it all away. People will begin with a cooler and lighter diet and also work on various exercise routines which suit them for this season. And while we're at it, we also have a bunch of summer fruits to binge on!

Watermelons! The ultimate summer fruit is proven to be the juiciest fruit with 94% weight of just water. Yep, that's true! This fruit is all water and nutrients and very rich in vitamins and health benefits. This sweet, juicy and delicious fruit gives you good skin and immunity, boosts eye health and also has a range of antioxidants. Watermelon is also a very good source of lycopene which is a plant pigment that helps you keep away from the risk of heart diseases. Not just that, the citrulline content in the fruit enhances blood flow. Also, did you know that watermelons were primarily cultivated 4000 years ago in Persia?

Out of all the very many health benefits that watermelon hold, the most important one is where it keeps the blood pressure levels in check. For the uninitiated, high blood pressure is a condition that occurs when the force of blood against your artery wall is very high. If your blood pressure level is continuously above 120/80 mmHg, you should very much consume watermelon on a regular basis. Because if high BP is left untreated, it might result in stroke.

If you want to make it more fun, you can make watermelon popsicle without any added sugar or additives. They're very yummy and gives you even more reasons to eat the juicy fruit. However, overdose of anything is harmful for the health and so, you should only consume this fruit in limits.
