The touch-me-not plant, scientifically called the Mimosa Pudica is quite well known for its shy attributes because of which it's got a lot of nicknames like shy pant, shrinking plant, bashful pant and sleepy plant. People are sure aware of its shrinking and shy personality, but not many know of its health benefits. Read on to know more about it.

- Cuts and wounds: Injuries are very common for kids as they can get wounded while playing and running around. Every household has antiseptic liquids. But if you run out of it or can't find one, you can use the touch-me-not plant leaves as they have healing properties. It can subside the pain and helps in healing any sort of wound quickly. You simply have to apply the juice extracted out of these leaves on the wound.

- Excessive bleeding during menstruation: The plant has properties that balance out the hormones in the body which relieves you from heavy bleeding of menstruation. You only need to take the leaves, grind them and filter the juice out. Mix this juice with honey and drink it one or twice a day.

- Diarrhea: Since the hot months of the year are here, the stomach is very likely to get upset due to the weather. Sometimes, you might end up eating oily foods that aren't that well digested and can hamper the smooth digestion process. In such a situation, the touch-me-not plant can come to your rescue and act towards replenishing the body with the required water balance. The juice from the leaves of this plant will treat diarrhea.

- Itching: Since the weather has been changing and infection rate is higher, the skin tends to get itchy sometimes. While an antiseptic liquid can hep, the best solution is to use the paste of the touch-me-not plant roots on the affected area. You can also make a paste by extracting the juice of this plant by adding sesame oil to it.
