These apple salads may be beneficial for diabetics

They say "an apple a day keeps the doctor away", now it may even help diabetes patients manage the condition. This fruit is loaded with fibres that may help manage the symptoms of diabetes. It is believed that apples contain fructose and antioxidant polephenols that helps to slow down the process of sugar being absorbed in the bloodstream.

Some studies also suggest consuming this fruit can significantly reduce your risk of developing the condition. A study conducted on women found those who consumed an apple daily had a reduced risk of the condition by 28 per cent.

This salad is low in calories and easy to make.Slice up some apples and celery and toss it together. Celery is also rich in fibre and potassium. This combo will help to manage your blood pressure levels. This salad is perfect if you are an on-the-go kinda gal or you can even eat it after your workout.

Looking for a bit of crunch and a nutty flavour? If yes, then this is the recipe for you. In a bowl, combine apples, pine nuts, cherry tomatoes, lettuce, spinach. You can even add feta cheese to the mix. You can consume this salad just before your main meal during dinner or have it for lunch.
