While for most people today is just a random day, 20th of March is also known as the International Day of Happiness. And with the world thrown into the chaos of the coronavirus, we all need a few reasons to smile, don't we? So, this International Happiness Day, take a look at all the benefits of being happy. It truly can work wonders for your health.

- It can build your immunity. The happier you are, the healthier you'll be. Try to have a more positive outlook on life and you'll see just how significantly this can improve your health too.

- It can help reduce stress. One of the best things about trying to be happy is that it can help reduce stress, anxiety and cortisol (stress hormone) levels. This natural reduction in cortisol can help improve your health in many ways and can ensure you don't end up being at risk of certain illnesses and diseases.

- It might help reduce pain psychologically if not physically. As we mentioned earlier, having a positive outlook can make you feel better altogether and this might also help reduce the pain that you feel.

- It could also increase your lifespan. Although there isn't any particular connection between being happy and having a longer lifespan, studies have shown that happier people tend to be healthier and that could also mean that they might live longer.

So, be happy and be healthy. Stay tuned for more updates.
