Most of you might know by now that the coronavirus can live on wooden surfaces for 4 days and 5 days on metal surfaces. This gives you enough reasons to disinfect your house on a regular basis. And if you've been lazy at doing that, we're telling you, it's time. We're talking about disinfecting all the furniture in the house - tables, doorknobs, counters, desks, sinks, toilets, handles, switches. All of it! And if you have no clue how to disinfect your furniture, we're here with a little help.

This is how you disinfect the furniture:

- Make sure you have disposable or washable gloves on and all the windows of the house open in order to improve ventilation when you start cleaning the furniture.

- Spray the solution on the furniture and wipe the area with a damp cloth in order to sanitize the area. Make sure you let the sofa to air-dry.

- You can remove the cushion covers and put them to wash only after you read the cleaning label permits carefully. If you don't have such cushion covers, you can very well use cleaning spray on them and clean them. Let them dry naturally before you place them on the couch again.

- Wipe down the entire table, from the tabletops to the wooden arms, all of it with a cloth that is soaked in disinfectant so that you sanitize it well. Make sure you do this at least once or twice a week.

- Once you've disinfected all the furniture of the house, clean your hands with soap and water for about 20 seconds.

Things to keep in mind: You must begin with vacuum-cleaning the surfaces that are upholstered. Since the upholstery fabrics can colour fast, you can wash them with detergents. But the organic solvents should be tested on an unnoticeable spot before you put to use.

In order to disinfect surfaces, you must first use a spray-on. You can make one at home in a 2:1 ratio of 60% to 90% rubbing isopropyl alcohol to water. You can even make a good disinfectant by mixing seven grams of bleaching powder to one litre water.
