Ginger has to be one of the most versatile ingredients you can ever lay your hands on and perhaps that's why Indian households love to use it. It can be used as a spice in your food, it can be added to your tea as a flavouring agent and it could also be used as medicine to cure a sore throat. Now, isn't that amazing?

But while you may already have been aware of all of these properties of ginger, did you know you could use it in your skin and hair care routine too? That's right, ginger has some amazing beauty benefits and you mustn't stop yourself from exploring those benefits. Here are a few ways in which you can use ginger for your skin and hair. Take a look.

Make a hair growth serum - Ginger can help improve blood circulation in your scalp which can prove to be rather good for your hair follicles and can help promote hair growth. For this serum, you'll need ginger - chopped into fine pieces, a quarter cup of water, 1 tbsp of castor oil and 1 tbsp of olive oil. Mix the ingredients well and transfer into a spray bottle. Just spray the serum onto your scalp whenever you want to use it and let it sit for 30-45 minutes before rinsing it off.

Use it in a face pack - Known to give your skin a glow, ginger can also help get rid of excess oil and sebum from your skin. So, to make this face pack, you will need ginger - chopped into tiny pieces, half a cup of water and 2 tbsp of raw honey. Blend all the ingredients together to make a paste and apply the mixture to your face. Leave it on for 20-30 minutes and then rinse it off with lukewarm water.

Turn it into a massage oil - Some massage oil is just what you'll need to soothe your skin and hair after a long day's work. For the oil, you'll need 2 tbsps of finely chopped ginger, a handful of dried rose petals and 1 cup of almond oil. Mix all of these ingredients together and let them sit in a jar for at least a week so that they blend well. Apply it whenever you want and give your skin the massage it needs.

Turn it into a scrub - We all know just how important exfoliation is for your skin. That's why you must make a natural exfoliant using some ginger. You'll need 2 tbsp of olive oil, 3 tbsp of brown sugar and some ginger paste. Mix the ingredients well and then apply the scrub to your skin. Massage it all over in gentle circular motions and leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing it off.

So, give these a try and you'll see just how well they work. Stay tuned for more updates.
