We're often made to believe that workplaces are safe and secure environments where one can grow and hone their abilities. But let's be honest, we've all seen our share of toxic work environments. Whether it's something basic like office gossip or something truly heinous like sexual harassment, there are a plethora of things that can go wrong in a work environment and make it toxic for the people working there. Of course, the simplest solution is to try to remove yourself from such a toxic environment, but not everyone can afford to do that. So, if you're someone who's tired and fed up of the toxicity at your workplace, here are some ways that will help you survive your time there. Take a look.

Set certain boundaries - Don't let your colleagues or bosses take advantage of you. Learn to say no to certain things like doing someone else's work for them or working overtime with no pay or being available all hours of the day. When you set certain boundaries you'll notice that it can actually help you out by reducing mental stress and this, in turn, will help you do a better job at work.

Look for some social support - Sometimes releasing all that pent up frustration is the best way to deal with all the stress you're feeling. Talk to a friend or a loved one about your problems. Let them know that you simply need to vent and need someone to hear you out without giving you futile advice. You could also start journaling as a method to cope with the stress.

Look for the good in the bad - Of course, this looks a lot easier said than done, but try to look for something positive that you can hold on to for the time that you're there. Whether it's the work that you do that wants you to stay or a colleague who's always ready to help out, try to find happiness in the small things and you'll notice just how much of a difference it can make.

Remember that this is just a job - At the end of the day, a job is just a job. Of course, your career is an important aspect of your life but so is your family, your time and your mental peace. So, don't dwell on the bad things for too long and remember, just like there are bad phases, there will be good phases too.

Keep these points in mind and stay tuned for more updates.
