Boiled. Fried. Scrambled. Poached. There are so many different ways of cooking an egg. An egg is such a versatile food, you can quickly stir it up in a soup or cut some for a salad. It’s that delicious! You must have heard your granny saying how good eggs are for you. Well, she was right. It is rich in protein. In fact, its low-calorie and low carbohydrate properties make it ideal for anyone who wants to lose some extra kilos from their body. According to a trend, a diet involving eggs can actually speed up one’s weight loss journey. This diet has been around for quite a while and now it’s catching our attention.

The diet involving eggs or an ‘egg diet’ requires one to consume at least one meal in a day around the traditional breakfast staple. This diet is packed with protein, fat, vitamin D, phosphorus, Vitamin A, and two B-complex vitamins. Apart from accelerating weight loss is one the healthy ways, all of these nutrients also help the body to convert food into energy. It is a known source of riboflavin, selenium, and choline. This will make sure that the process of losing fats from your body happens gradually while strengthening your muscles at the same time!

However, there’s no standard rule for this kind of diet. One may follow their own version of egg diet, according to convienence. As long as you are adding egg to your meal with no nibbles, and only water or zero-calorie beverages, you’re good to go!

Some common egg diets are:

Boiled egg diet: A diet consisting of 2 boiled eggs in a day with other low-calorie and protein-rich food.

Eggs and grapefruit diet: A diet consisting of 2 eggs in any form and a half grapefruit along, accompanied by low-carb and protein-rich meals.

Extreme egg diet: This diet requires people to only consume eggs and water. It might not be nutritionally insufficient and hence one may avoid this.
